Who is eligible to join Columbia Repertory Ballet?
All current Columbia affiliates are eligible to audition for CRB, including Columbia College, General Studies, SEAS, etc.
Does Columbia Repertory Ballet offer its own ballet classes?
CRB does not offer its own technique classes during the week. Most CRB dancers take ballet classes with Barnard to maintain their training or take class outside of Columbia (Steps, Ballet Arts, Broadway Dance Center, etc).
What levels of dancers join Columbia Repertory Ballet?
CRB welcomes all dancers to audition for its performances. Dancers casted in past CRB performances usually range from pre-professional students to retired professionals.
How many/what type of performances does Columbia Repertory Ballet hold?
The dancers of CRB perform a variety of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire once each semester. Past performances have been posted online here.
How often do dancers meet for rehearsals?
CRB dancers have rehearsal for each piece 1-1.5 hours a week.
How many dancers are in Columbia Repertory Ballet?
The final casts of CRB are usually around 20-30 dancers.
What technique does Columbia Repertory Ballet follow?
CRB welcomes all styles of ballet technique to audition and casts roles that are most suitable for each dancer’s training.
Where does Columbia Repertory Ballet perform?
CRB performs each semester at the MMAC Theater.
