Summer 2021 Virtual Dance Project
On Cue
by Ariel Wright, Summer 2021
Ariel Wright is an award-winning choreographer as well as a company dancer with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. On Cue was selected to be performed at the Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival at the end of April 2014 in Spokane, WA, and was one of ten emerging pieces chosen by adjudicator Deborah Hadley throughout the region.
There’s a strong ballet vocabulary throughout the entirety of the piece, with abstract and neoclassical elements interspersed. The ballet is originally about 7 minutes long but has been cut to be about 5 minutes long to accommodate for spatial limitations. This project was completely student-produced and danced, with special thanks to Rommel Nuñez for video production.
